The program is co-organized by the the HKUST Energy Institute and HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study and sponsored by the Croucher Foundation. The 3-days program will comprise lectures and short presentations, in which prominent experts from all around the world will present the latest findings and developments, and share their views on the rapidly developing research on energy storage . The Croucher ASI will also include open discussions to reflect on old ideas and to stimulate new ideas on future generations of energy storage technologies.
This Croucher ASI will cover a broad range of cutting-edge research topics, which include new systems of alkaline metal-ion batteries, flow batteries, and nanomaterials for energy. The research aims to address the challenges of high energy-density storage for mobile applications and cost-effective storage for grid-scale applications, both of which are essential in achieving a high share of renewable sources in the future mix of energy.
All participants of the Croucher ASI are encouraged to share their work - theories, methodologies, industry applications, case studies, etc. - and to explore further communication and collaborations with other participants.
